This week, I put together a playlist to share with my dance community. It came together pretty easily. Most of the songs remind me of club dance songs, which is not my normal style. But, hey, it is the summer and it feels like we should all be in Ibiza with some good Latin music on our lips and cool dance moves on our hips.
I listened to the playlist earlier today and realized I was struck by the only country and western song on the list; “I Hope You Dance” by Lee Ann Womack. I was surprised by how much emotion came up for me when Lee Ann sang the line, “And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance.”
I immediately tried to determine what the reason for the emotion was. I believe I need to clear all the times when I did not take opportunities for growth or didn’t fully lean into a situation. Perhaps I allowed fear to cause me to choose the safer option. I started to clear any discordant emotions regarding this and the false beliefs that someone else held me back from living fully and passionately.
I can see the larger mirror for the Experiment in Duality. I realize that the lyrics are giving me the nudge to truly release all the angst and false beliefs that I have held for all the actions and inactions I have taken in the Experiment. It is also giving me the reminder to truly be joyful about volunteering for the experiment in the first place. I can feel the shift of looking at the experiment as wonderful, not just a “wonderful opportunity” but sincerely as just a wonderful experience to the point that I can’t wait to see what crazy thing I am willing to join after our Ascension. I don’t want to sit anything out. I want to dance.
