When something keeps coming across my awareness, I take note because I usually connect with a message from my soul. One such message has been coming to me through Paul McCartney’s famous lyrics to “Let It Be”1.
When I hear this song, I am always moved to pause, be still, allow inner silence as the soothing words wash over me. To me, the words mean much more than just drop it or let something go. To truly let it be from the divine perspective is to accept, allow and embrace what is, even when it feels disorienting or uncomfortable. This is the peace of letting an experience be what it is, free of judgment or fear. It is in that state of pure surrender that we move into higher frequencies of love and light.
That surrender opens us to a breakthrough opportunity. When we relax and let it be, we can see the silver lining, the hidden gem, the deeper insight that we were resisting. It’s the resistance rather than the situation itself that creates pain and struggle. To truly let something be, we surrender the illusion and let it reveal the love that it is and always has been.
Take a few moments to soak in the wisdom, the love and the power of this mantra:
When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be
And in my hour of darkness she is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it beLet it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it beAnd when the broken-hearted people living in the world agree
There will be an answer, let it be
For though they may be parted, there is still a chance that they will see
There will be an answer, let it beLet it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Yeah, there will be an answer, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it beLet it be, let it be, let it be, yeah, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it beAnd when the night is cloudy there is still a light that shines on me
Shine until tomorrow, let it be
I wake up to the sound of music, Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it beLet it be, let it be, let it be, yeah, let it be
There will be an answer, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, yeah, let it be
There will be an answer, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, yeah, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be
*Author’s note: Paul McCartney shared in an interview that his reference to “Mother Mary” was actually about his own mother of that same name. Whether it’s meaningful to you for the religious connection or something more personal, it’s always about the love.
