Why I am stuck: the densest, unknown, or hidden issues.

As I mentioned, the first reason we might be stuck is that we have already cleared the superficial issues leaving the densest, hidden issues or the issues you are unwilling to look at.

Again, let’s use food as the example. Anyone trying to eat healthier knows the first things she needs to eliminate from her diet is sugar and unhealthy fat. Thus, when she starts her diet, Susan throws out all the ice cream in the house. Ice cream and other obvious foods that might not be healthy for Susan are the superficial issues that are easy for her to recognize and eliminate.

However, what about the sugars and fats that might not be as easy to see in her diet? What about the amount of sugar in spaghetti sauce or the fat in salad dressing that Susan didn’t realize? She may feel stuck in her goals for dieting because she didn’t realize the “hidden” issues.

It is the same thing with being energetically stuck. Perhaps you are in the habit of watching television shows that are gruesome, frightening, or exude hate. These shows can lower your vibration and maybe even leave you feeling fatigued. I am not suggesting that you have to give up watching TV or movies. What I am suggesting is that you watch with a discerning eye as to how something is affecting you.

I know some lightworkers who say they don’t watch the news because it brings them down. In the SITL classes, we teach that not being apprised of the news of the world is not necessarily the highest plan.

First, if the outer world is a mirror for us, how do we know what we still need to heal if we don’t know what is going on in the world? If we didn’t see the divisiveness of the politics on the right and the politics on the left, would we think to look at the divisiveness within ourselves?

Second, if we don’t know where the struggles are in the world, how do we know where to send positive energy to help raise the frequency of those situations?

Third, being able to watch the news with a discerning eye with love and compassion for what others are going through but at the same time allowing and detaching so as to not have our own frequency lowered is healthy and a sign of our mastery. This also allows us to see where we have healed issued within ourselves. Watching the news may move us to action but we would like this to be based on what is in the highest good, not out of knee-jerk emotions.

Finally, we also suggest seeking your own guidance, your own inner wisdom, to know how much news to watch. You may be guided to watch a weekly summary, or one of the nightly news shows once or twice a week. One of my favorite ways to get a summary of the news is CBS This Morning. It has an opening summary announced as “your world in 90 seconds.” This segment keeps me up-to-date on major world events. Then, if I am guided, I can investigate issues further.

We want to know what is going on in the world without necessarily soaking for many hours a day in lower energy.

There are also some are some issues that are so dense that we ignore them until they can no longer be ignored. These issues keep you stuck. These are probably the hardest issues to face because they frighten us so much. Looking at these issues will make us question all the preconceived beliefs that we hold for ourselves.

It is hard to give examples of this because we all have different beliefs about ourselves. However, here are a few. Am I kind and generous? Am I only kind and generous when others are watching and if I can deduct it on my tax return? Is the love I hold for others unconditional until they hurt me and then it is conditional? Am I tolerant of others’ cultures until their culture clashes with my own? We must be willing to look at ourselves at the most basic level to determine what prejudices and fears we have in order to clear them away to allow only the love to shine through.

Allowing the love to shine through does not mean becoming someone else’s doormat. Standing in our own power with love and wisdom is the goal. Remember, it is not the what, it is the why. Giving to others and showing compassion because you know yourself as God and can see God in the other person is totally different from giving to others and showing compassion because you have guilt based on circumstances of birth. In the first scenario, you are showing love and compassion because you are love and compassion. In the second, you believe the other person is a victim of her circumstances. If you believe a person is a victim, you aren’t seeing them as the power, the love, and the wisdom that you find in yourself. If you are viewing another person as a victim, then you might want to look at how you are viewing yourself as a victim. You may also want to look at how you are viewing the mirror of victimization, in general.

We can see why it is hard to look at these issues because they have us question the core of who we are.

The Joy of Simplicity

The Joy of Simplicity

My sister, Vickie, is a chef. Her motto is why use five ingredients if four will do. Her theory is to use fresh, local, high quality ingredients to make delicious food and not get wrapped up in making something complicated as if complicated is the goal of haut cuisine. Quality and flavor is the goal of haut cuisine, which can be found simply, if you are willing to look for it.

I believe this is a good rule for life in general: simplicity.

I sometimes think we have bought into what the high tech marketing firms want us to believe. We need that next greatest version of everything and we need it now. Of course, electronics and gadgets can make our lives easier, but don’t they sometimes make them more complicated? Does anyone seem to have enough outlets any more to recharge all of our devices? Do we have enough bandwidth to keep up with the Joneses?

Recently, my husband and I were on vacation outside of the USA. We decided not to buy the wifi package at the resort because we wanted to unplug. It was quite refreshing to not know what was happening in the broader world on a minute by minute basis with updates and soundbites that only tell a part of the story. Once we were back home, we were able to catch up on the news of the world in summary which for us was sufficient. (We aren’t controlling policy, thus the executive summary is great for us!)

While we were on vacation, the simplicity of being in the joy of the moment was quite energizing. We talked to other guests at meals. We read books. We exchanged ideas and points of view with people from all over the world. It was refreshing not to be tied to the battery life and online news.

Our challenge is to not fall back into old habits of being attached to our TV or electronic devices as they keep us from experiencing the joy of just being: being in the now.

The question for each of us is how can we simplify our lives so that we are living in the now and experiencing what each moment holds for us instead of being dragged down by too much stuff, too much noise, and too much information. Some people may need to simplify physically or financially. Some may need to simplify emotionally or mentally. And probably all of us need to simplify spiritually. Ask if you might need to focus on BEING more and DOING less. Find the joy in simplifying your life.

Heaven on Earth

Heaven on Earth

What are we waiting for? Why do we not allow ourselves the full experience of peace, love and joy right here on Earth? In some traditions, heaven is something far away that we must work hard to attain and is only possible for us after much struggle. Even when we consciously no longer believe that, many of us are still holding that deeply in our subconscious so that it blocks us from living in heaven on earth.

We are the creators of 100% of our experiences and have the capability to shift our experience at any moment- glass half empty, glass half full. So what holds us back from allowing ourselves to have our glasses full all the time? For each of us, the answer may be different. It may be the belief that you are not lovable enough as you are and must earn your happiness by striving to be more perfect. It may be self-punishment for what you believe are past transgressions, in this life or another, that must be worked off before you can be allowed love. It may be the belief that it is more noble to hold off on your own joy until others who are suffering have been “saved” from their misery. It may even be the belief that earth is too dense and therefore a heavenly experience in human form is not even possible. But these are just beliefs.

In Standing in the Light®, we teach techniques for identifying and clearing the false beliefs that hold us back from experiencing ourselves as divine. These beliefs are not the truth of who we are, but false realities we have come to believe are true in our experience of separation from Source, the God/Goddess/All That Is. We do not have to experience this separation any longer.

Where do you find yourself thinking that if you just had that new job/ new home/ new partner, you would be able to truly connect with your joy? Where do you find yourself looking to your president/ congress members/ news media/ world leaders to fix what you are seeing in the world? Where do you find yourself still asking God to just change this or that in your life so that you will feel loved? Looking outside ourselves for happiness is how we deny ourselves heaven on earth.

So, take some time and look deep within to identify the hidden beliefs that are limiting you from your birthright of peace, love and joy. When you truly know yourself as Source, it does not matter whether you’re on Earth or the star system Sirius, whether you’re in a body or not that determines your experience. You cannot control the decisions of others, but you can control your reality by shifting your inner experience. We were created in the Garden of Eden, a metaphor for our state of complete Oneness with Source. That is our true nature and we can experience that once again. Look within and you will heaven on earth is right here.

Knowing Myself as Source

Knowing Myself as Source

We are all divine beings, creators of our experiences and One with Source. We know this from the teachings of many masters who have come before us. We have heard it many times in different words, but it can feel quite daunting to our minds and quite far away from our current, limited reality. Yet, it is exactly who we are- Source.

I have recently been looking at areas of my life where I am still doubting that I am the source of everything I experience and have realized that a major stumbling block has been a deep sense of responsibility- a duty to get it done and get it “right”. Yet, if I am truly Source, then I am the source of my own Love, my love for myself as well as for others. Why do I doubt that I have that capacity?

It has helped me to feel this next level of knowing myself as source if I look at it as simply a greater sense of self-confidence and self-knowing. I don’t know how I’m going to manifest this or that just yet, or exactly how it will come into form in the outer world, but I know that I am capable because all of my creations come from within. The potential is already there- it just needs my focus and intention to nudge it along into being. Focus and intention? That’s not so hard! I can do that. You can do that!

Rather than feeling the pressure of believing that since I’m capable then I must have the whole plan figured out right now, I have begun to feel the knowingness of myself as Source as more of an inner cheerleader. To quote our former president, Barak Obama’s, campaign slogan, “Yes, we can.” It no longer feels like a “should” or a “must” and begins to feel more like, “Yes, I want to!” Yes, I want to love myself enough to create that and to love others enough to share it. Rather than a task, it becomes a gift and an adventure. Our creatorship is truly our gift- to ourselves and to the world.

When it feels like you’ve had a failure or hit a stumbling block or are just plain stuck, remember that you’ve created infinite experiences before this and are infinitely qualified to create more. Take a deep breath, be easy with yourself and allow a little more time for your next creation to express itself out in the world. You are a master remembering who you are. Your greatest creation is your Love manifesting itself and, as Source, that Love is infinite.

The Joy of Being a Full Living Master

The Joy of Being a Full Living Master

Don’t let the title fool you, I am working toward being a Full Living Master (FLM), but there is still a ways to go on this particular journey for me!

In my quest, however, I realized that I had a certain image in my mind as to what a FLM would look like. I didn’t limit what gender, nationality, size, race, or creed that a FLM would be, but I was limiting his/her countenance. I believed that a FLM would exude wisdom, love, and joy. But, I found myself thinking that the joy would be of the peaceful kind, of the serene kind, not necessarily the passionate or hilarious kind of joy. Why would I believe that a FLM didn’t laugh?

Then the thought came to me – why would anyone want to be a FLM if the position – or more precisely the level of frequency – was so severe and serious that one couldn’t laugh. Did I have a false belief that Source / The All That Is / The Creation Energy doesn’t have a sense of humor or simply doesn’t want to have fun? Maybe I did. But, I don’t any more. Who do we think created humor?

I am reminded of the saying we teach in Standing in the Light®. “It’s not the What, It’s the Why”. Why are we laughing? Is it because we are sharing a funny and joyful experience or because we are making fun of someone else. If our “why” is joy, then we raise our frequency in the laughter. If our “why” is spiteful, then we may want to explore different forms of entertainment.

The tricky type of humor for me is humor that is all about the irony of the situation. If the irony brings to our attention inconsistencies, hypocrisies, or judgments, and sheds light on how these beliefs might be harming ourselves or our world, then the irony is probably doing its job to raise our frequency and allow us to rid ourselves of lower vibratory beliefs. If the irony is simply mean-spirited, we might want to look at whether that is truly moving us forward in our evolution.

I realize that I need to change my beliefs and stop projecting my old beliefs of virtue and righteousness on who or what a FLM is. By eliminating these judgments, I hopefully take one more step closer to that existence, myself.

May We All Feel The Love, Joy, and Laughter of a Full Living Master, always. Namaste.

Not Lost but Found

Not Lost but Found

Have you been feeling a little lost, lately? Many people have been feeling the uncertainty and pressures of personal life changes and the reflection of discord in our nation as our political and social pendulum swings back and forth in search of balance. When we are not allowing ourselves to move with the flow of change, we feel stuck, afraid and a little lost. Where is all of this going?

I recently came down with a strain of the flu that has been circling around. I had it all: fever, body aches and a wracking cough that felt like it rattled my bones. It seemingly hit me out of nowhere, which is exactly how the flu operates. I have been fortunate in my life to get sick only rarely, but this experience sure found me! It was very disorienting to feel so incapacitated and to have no clue how long it would last. Each day I checked in with my Soul to ask how best to support myself, but there isn’t much you can do physically except to let it run its course!

I kept asking to release everything that was no longer in alignment with my highest plan and to clear out my bodies as much as possible to allow in more light. I didn’t know exactly what was being released or where all of it was leading me, but I trusted that this clearing would take me to new levels of consciousness and willingness to let go.

When I began to feel better, I asked my Soul for education and understanding of what the experience meant for me and how to make the best use of it in my spiritual evolution. One suggestion was to work with the resonance of Divine Equilibrium to help me acclimate to new levels of light. The phrase “this is the new normal” has been bouncing around social media for a while and this was my version of accepting and integrating a “new normal.”

As I continue to recover physically, I am getting more and more insights from the experience. But none of it would have been possible if I hadn’t surrendered to it and allowed it to run its course. Resistance would only have made it painful.

As you navigate all of the changes which are happening personally and globally, allow your Soul to lead you in focusing on the greater wisdom and levels of light we are gaining. We must let go of the old to make way for the new. It is sometimes a messy, chaotic process but it always leads us to greater truths of who we are as divine beings. Rather than feeling lost, hold the Faith and Trust of remembering that we are all just going Home to ourselves as Source. There are many paths we may choose to take, but there really is only the destination of Oneness.
