The Wisdom of Marcel the Shell

The Wisdom of Marcel the Shell

Marcel The Shell With Shoes On is a tiny conch shell who wears shoes. He is small but mighty and is inspiring many. Originally created by actress Jenny Slate and Dean Fleischer Camp as a stop-motion animation character in a series of video shorts, his story was expanded to a full-length animated film called Marcel the Shell with Shoes On.(1)

When the movie begins, Marcel is feeling lonely. All of his friends and family are gone, except his grandmother, and he misses them greatly. He doesn’t know where they are but he yearns to re-create the close-knit community he lost. Eventually, he gets the courage to connect with the big, wide world for help with locating them. It’s a huge endeavor given that he is very tiny and has never left his house, but he has hope. And he finds help.

Throughout his adventures, he offers many insights to the audience. Marcel doesn’t see himself as any sort of teacher; he simply shares his inner thoughts and feelings about his life experiences with honesty and earnestness. In his innocence, he is actually quite wise.

Without giving away too much, Marcel’s story does have a happy ending and he shares his final, deep insight about life in a scene where he describes sitting by an open window and feeling a breeze blow through his conch shell. I’ll let Marcel’s words speak for themselves in his very unique and sweet voice:

And one day, I was just sitting, and the wind blew in and it blew just over the top of my head in such a way…and it made a beautiful whistling sound…
It connected me… to everything, because if I wasn’t there, the sound would never exist.
And I felt like everything was in pieces, and then I stood there and suddenly, we were one large instrument.
I like to go there a lot because it reminds me that I’m not just one separate piece rattling around in this place, but that I’m part of a whole.
And I truly enjoy the sound of myself connected to everything.

Try this meditation with your soul: Ask to feel the resonance of yourself connected with everything. Then ask to feel the resonance of your unique “sound” connected to everything. This is the essence of your unique expression as your Source-self.

When we truly know ourselves as One with All, then we know ourselves as the magnificence of all of creation. May we each remember the beauty of ourselves connected to everything!

The Majesty of Nature

The Majesty of Nature

Three weeks on the Big Island of Hawaii will definitely allow a person many opportunities to enjoy the majesty of nature.

I recently spent three weeks in Hawaii after the birth of our newest granddaughter, Lore. Many of you sent healing energy to Lore and her parents, Cara and Art, when a complication during the birthing process required Lore to be flown from the Big Island to Oahu for a week and a half at a neonatal intensive care unit at a hospital in Honolulu. All of us are grateful for your thoughtful and consistent healing intentions.

The day I was originally scheduled to fly to Hawaii was the day Lore was approved to fly back to her home island, as well. Picking up Cara, Art and Lore at the airport was very special for me. I had the joy and privilege to spend the next three weeks in helper and grandmother mode. I made more omelets for Cara and Art than I have for myself in the past year. Because I do not have biological children of my own, I held, fed and changed Lore more in 3 weeks than every before in this lifetime. All of these experiences touched my heart. I felt the emotions well up in me as they dropped me off at the airport for my flight back to Colorado.

When I took a little time to determine if I needed to cut cords of attachment with the humans, I realized I just needed to acknowledge the majesty of the natural world that is Hawaii. While helping my human family recover from 11 days in hospital and the normal recovery of the birthing process, I was able to enjoy the beauty and bounty of staying on a coffee farm on the Kona coast. The view from the lanai is majestic and healing as evident in the accompanying image to this blog entry. Although this was the most colorful of the sunsets, I enjoyed all of them while I was there.

On the 10-acre coffee farm, not only are there coffee plants, but there are also banana, mango, macadamia nut, lime, avocado and grapefruit trees. I enjoyed walking through all of these plants daily as I was also the chief dog walker while I was there. Although, I did have to practice my Indiana Jones moves to not walk into the abundant and ever present spider webs between all these trees.

A 20-minute drive down winding roads from a 1000-foot elevation to the ocean allowed for a quick swim from the volcanic beach where tourist and locals enjoy the famed sanctuary where the ancients sought refuge from their enemies. The healing powers of the area has been well known for millennia.

As predicted, I did enjoy the bounty of the sea with multiple meals of the famed Hawaiian dish of poke: raw fish with seaweed. Poke was my first meal on this trip waiting to pick up everyone at the airport and it was my last meal, waiting to board my flight home.

The majesty of nature helped me as I helped others. I am striving to keep that high frequency energy of the majesty of nature in my daily life back here in Colorado. So far, so good.

Is it Time to Upgrade Your Technology?

Is it Time to Upgrade Your Technology?

Recently, I was checking in about a few areas where some of my clearing was feeling slow or stuck and my soul recommended that I upgrade my technology. I’m a bit old-school with my use of electronics and I knew immediately that my soul meant spiritual technology. The guidance wasn’t about replacing the tried-and-true healing techniques I’ve been using for my spiritual evolution but rather upgrading my use of those techniques with higher frequency energy, deeper understanding and greater mastery. It was time for a fresh approach and renewed intentions.

In the physical realm, many people look at spring as a natural time to re-organize or reset various aspects of their lives. With gratitude, we let go of the old things that no longer serve us and look for ways to re-purpose or revitalize what we’re guided to keep. As we know, the outer can only be a reflection of the inner. For true change, we will need to do our inner spring cleaning.

Here are some questions you might take to your soul. Of course, there may be others you are guided to ask:

– Am I checking in about which healing technique or energy will work best with each situation/issue?
– Am I using my healing techniques to their full effectiveness?
– Am I allowing the maximum healing benefit of the techniques I work with or programs I set in motion?
– Am I bringing through the highest frequency energy I am able in my healing work?
– Are there any spiritual tools/techniques I’ve learned but forgotten about or stopped using that I should bring back into more regular use?

There are many divine healing modalities and techniques that have been seeded on the planet over the ages. We don’t need all of them in our spiritual toolkit. With your soul, choose the ones you’re guided to use and then focus on using them well. Continue to allow them to evolve, allow yourself to evolve with them and you will go far!

The Beauty of Faith (reprise)

The Beauty of Faith (reprise)

Father John LaFarge once remarked, “For those who believe in God no explanation is necessary. For those who do not believe in God no explanation is possible.”

I’ve always loved this quote about faith. Faith is not something logical we can explain to anyone nor is it something we can talk ourselves into. It is not something we can pass along to another and it is not about following doctrine. At times, we may be guided to act on faith but we cannot do faith as an action step to make faith happen for us or anyone else.

Divine Faith is a state of being which comes from within. It is a deeply heart-centered understanding of ourselves and all beings as Source. For most of us, it will take time to expand to that level of consciousness and the best approach is to love and allow ourselves with as much patience as we need to grow into our full faith.

So, be at peace and go gently forward as you move into Divine Faith. Give yourself space to more fully remember yourself as Source and support yourself in ways that will help you stay in the resonances of peace, calm, patience, understanding and trust. A soothing bubble bath, a soft chant or a walk in the sunshine may not seem directly related to practicing faith, but they might each be the perfect thing to help you hold the wisdom that you are divine and that all is well and in perfect divine order.

Absolution: Be as compassionate to yourself as the IRS

Absolution: Be as compassionate to yourself as the IRS

Please note: I have visited this topic before but not for 12 years. Because it is tax season, I think it is time to review and update it!

If you are like most Americans, Monday, April 15, 2024 is your Federal Individual Tax Return deadline for Tax Year 2023. For the majority of individuals in America, Tax Day looms large over our heads like the sword of Damocles, bringing abject fear to some or just mild frustration to others. Regardless which camp you are in, you are usually glad to see your taxes filed. Done and Dusted.

But, today, I don’t want to talk about how we should feel about Tax Day 2024 with respect to our 2023 Tax filing, but instead how we should feel about our 2020 Tax filing. And the word that comes to mind is ABSOLUTION.

For the vast majority of us who filed our 2020 Federal Income Tax Return by April 15, 2021, this April will be the end of the statute of limitations for the items in that return. How exciting is that?! Let’s not get so far down the rabbit hole that we discuss the oddities like carry-overs, and fraud, etc. (We will discuss fraud later in the blog entry.) For now, we will stick to the most relevant stuff. The end of the statute of limitations means if we goofed, we don’t have to worry about the IRS coming back to refigure our taxes for 2020 and prior. Collective sigh of relief!

If the Federal Government, the IRS no less, is willing to only look back three years into our financial business, why do we carry around so much of our personal failings, personal grudges and negative-group-think many years, many life times into the future? We should allow ourselves a little grace and a lot of ABSOLUTION on our perceived failings. No need to hold unto these negative energies even the normal three years statute of limitations for taxes, let alone thirty years or lifetimes of grudges.

A caveat for the three-year statute of limitations for taxes is that you must actually file your tax return. If you never filed the return, the three-year time limit doesn’t start, so it never ends.

This really is no different for our personal issues. If we don’t look at the issue and start the process to forgive ourselves, to change our energy or our focus, then the festering never has a chance to heal. Even if your initial attempt to heal / change / forgive yourself isn’t perfect, think of it as your “first offer”. You can always update or “amend” it as new information comes in.

Now let’s tackle the fraud situation. When I told my husband I was going to brush off this blog entry, he said, “but sometimes there is fraud”. From a metaphysical standpoint, he is asking if we can have absolution if what we did was really bad. From the perspective of the spiritual hierarchy, there is no delineation in “how bad” we messed up, how violent we might have been and for which lifetime the egregious action took place. From the perspective of the spiritual hierarchy – all of the things we judge as bad – are just experiences. These experiences may not be in the highest plan, but they are not a reason to be punished, abandoned or kicked out of Source. There is nothing but Source. We are all Source. We have always been Source. There isn’t anything else we could be. There is no need for a “fraud” exception to keep the statute of limitations from expiring because Source does not require any restitution for any action. It is our lower-self egos that are not ready to absolve ourselves of any past or current transgressions. But we can change that. We can heal the belief in our unworthiness or the belief in our darkness which keeps us punishing ourselves.

Let us set our intention to be as forgiving of ourselves as the IRS is. And let’s take it a step further. Don’t even wait three years to raise your frequency to the energy of absolution. Don’t worry if some action was the equivalent of fraud. Take this opportunity to wipe the slate clean. Be willing to forgive and absolve yourself, others and all situations.

Be willing to grant yourself Divine Grace, Forgiveness and Absolution.

Being Our Divine Authority

Being Our Divine Authority

Do you see yourself as a rule follower or a rule breaker? My personality self in this lifetime has tended to be a rule-follower. I did not believe I had significant issues with authority, until recently. As I was working to heal my perceptions of abuses of power in the outer world, I realized that understanding and stepping into Divine Power goes hand-in-hand with respecting and surrendering to Divine Authority. We cannot be in true Divine Power if we are not also operating in Divine Authority.

Even as Lightworkers, our lower selves sometimes want to skip steps. We may find ourselves trying to jump from feeling at the effect of 3rd dimensional authority and directly into what we perceive as the freedom of recognizing no authority at all. But both of these perspectives are rooted in separation. Denying authority is not healing our issues with it. Whether we find ourselves fighting against authority, following authority without question or denying any authority altogether, we are dealing with aspects of the same unhealed issue of viewing power and authority as an outside force.

Healing our issues with authority requires expanding our understanding of Divine Authority to include All That Is. In our humility and respect for the collective will of Source, we simultaneously surrender to the authority of Source and act as the authority of Source. In the 3rd dimension, those two energies may appear to be separate but in the higher frequencies of the divine realms, they are one and the same. When we know ourselves as One, there can be no power and authority over or under. When we know ourselves as One, then our inner power and authority are One.
